In the future, humanity has become degraded by undesireable individuals. Elitists have have taken over and are hell bent on making humanity a beautiful race once again. Men and women are grouped by region and age parameters and required to a facility at a certain time They enter a show of sorts where the best male and female are chosen through a panel of elitist judges. The two are paired as mates in a government sanctioned arranged marriage ( unless the two best are related of course, then two pairings would occur). This ensures that the best genes will combine for the benefit of society. There are complications with even this though, as the below story will show you

Richard was from a region on the east coast and had been preparing for the annual pairings that every region was required to participate in.
